On April 4, 2009, my #2 son, Brett, was finally blessed with a beautiful bride! After many years of prayer, God sent him "the one" to be his wife and friend for life! God is so good to our family! Jennifer is a beautiful, wonderful, cheerful, sweet person and we are so happy to have her join our family!! The wedding was absolutely beautiful; compliments especially to my sister-in-law, Jaclyn Potter, my mother, and my two sisters for all their hard work and talent!

January 1, 2009 -Happy Birthday to my dear, sweet father-in-law, Joe! With all the health issues he's had lately, we feel very blessed to be able to gather the family around him on his 80th birthday and celebrate his life! May God bless us with many more years with him.

Extreme Home Makeover

I planned, saved, prayed, acted, and received...... It's finally finished! We have updated kitchen and bathrooms! Out with the '80s, in with the new! I feel like God is so good to us and I give Him the glory for our blessings. The kitchen and bathroom vanities were remodeled and painted by Ken and Melody Miles of Barrington Design and Remodel. Melody suffered a stroke in April, but was healed and able to finish another job right before mine. Now that they are finished with my project, they are changing careers. It is too stressful on Melody, so she is going to pursue Internet Marketing and Design Consulting work. Ken is going to pursue the ministry in foreign missions. They have 3 wonderful children and their whole family worked on the project until late at night near the end. The project started Sept. 15 and was complete on Dec. 2. It wasn't easy to go through it, but I feel like the Lord lead us to the Miles family to help them out financially as much as they helped us out with obtaining our beautiful kitchen and baths!

Uncle Tom's Colorado Cabin

Thanksgiving in Colorado with the Potter family was memorable! David and Jaclyn invited us up to spend some time with them in their new mountain cabin located near Breckenridge, Colorado. They named their cabin after the book, Uncle Tom's Cabin, because Jaclyn's great-grandfather did a traveling road show of the story back in the early part of the century. She found his poster advertising the show up in an attic and has it hanging in the cabin. We enjoyed the company, the scenery, and the snow!

My stompin' grounds

These are our "stompin' grounds". I work in the tall building and Mike works next door in the shorter square all-glass building to it's left. This is where we spend most of our days. And now Brett is close by in the new BOK Center arena (which in this picture is under construction). Isn't God good to keep our family so close together? Now if we can just get Barry to move back... Lord, is that in Your plans?

My Mentor

Joyce is a beautiful Christian woman who is my mentor, my mother-in-law, and my friend. I'm so blessed to have her in my life. I can talk to her about anything and she is a lot of fun to be around! She's always cheerful and positive and just like her son, her laugh is infectious!

I have learned many things just being around her for over 35 years. The most important of those things is how to prioritize life - always put God first and keep his commandments and you will have J.O.Y. in your life. Put J=Jesus first, O=Others second, and Y=Yourself last. She is living up to her name -JOY is short for JOYCE! :)

Pink roses

Welcome to my first blog post. I just set up my first blog spot. I'm going to try it out and see how it goes. :)

Here is a picture of one of my most favorite things - pink roses! Aaahhh...the beauty, the sweet fragrance! God is the best decorator ever! :)
